  • I really miss seeing my friends as much as I used to, and have a horrible feeling when I see more pictures they've posted up of nights out / holidays they've had. I just can't afford it and it sucks majorly :( I've been just about scraping by for the last 3 years, and in that time I've had hardly any nights out and only one holiday (three days in Wales in my dad's caravan for a grand total of £100 for both me and OH :) ).

Since my LBM in May last year, I started giving myself £100 spending money each month, and when it's gone, it's gone. All the rest of my money goes on paying bills or paying debts. It does make my inner child sulk, but I just keep looking forward to when all the money worries are in the past! Only 2 more months til out of OD and paid off CC balance, then rest should be paid off by this time next year. Though last month I cut my "pocket money" down to just £50 a month in a bid to bring that day closer, which has really made my inner child have a full blown tantrum! lol

That money talks, I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"

  • One of the hardest concepts I have had to learn on my debt free journey was "every penny counts". I used to think that it was OK to fritter money away on the odd £5 and £10 purchase because that didnt matter somehow. It was only when I started keeping a spending diary that I realised how much I wasted.

Next week will be a challenge for me, kids on half term and very little to spend. I need to think of some free things to do (and hope for good weather!).
