hi everyone just after a bit of info,last march i had an heart attack and lost my job so i had to claim esa for six months then went on jsa contribution based and now because me and my wife have separated i have got to claim income based jsa .what i need to now is am i entitled to (smi) sopport fo mortgage intrest .:o

Need more information - can you provide a breakdown of what dates you have claimed each benefit, when your wife left and whether she was earning?Gone ... or have I?0

i claimed esa from 28th of march 2010 to august 2010 then jsa (cont based) from august 2010 until feb 11th 2010 i have applied for jsa(income based ) this week as my wife left me on the 1st of feb she was earning 1200 per month hope this is helpfull.0

You can claim SMI after a thirteen week qualification period. You should have had an underlying entitlement (and hence start the qualifying period) from 1st February. Will your wife continue to pay her half of the mortgage?Gone ... or have I?0

my son own half of the house and pays half the mortgage he is also on income based jsa .:o0
