Arrrgh Postman!

There seems to be no continuity with my postmans deliveries times - its making it near impossible for me to recieve anything!
I know its partly my own fault for ordering so many things (big MSE bargains and all that) but seriously its becoming a bit of a joke now.
I used to be able to set my watch by the postman, 11.10 every morning, but after the snow and everything (which to be fair I understand) messed everything up, my old postman disappeared and I now have some kid delivering my post and Ive no idea what time he'll turn up - he seems to not post anything other than totally thin letters, he seems insistent on knocking the door for very small packages which will more than easily fit through the letter box....to make matters worse he doesn't even seem to knock or ring the bell somedays - Saturday morning me and OH woke about 10, were lying in bed - now our bedroom is next to the front door (but can hear the door at the other end of the house anyway) but at around 11 my OH went to check the post and instead found a 'sorry you were out card' and the time on it was 10.34 - so we would have definitely heard something if he'd knocked or rung.
I had yet another 'sorry you were out' card through the door yesterday, fair enough I was actually out so no idea if he knocked or whatever - but again the time was 10.32 - definetly the same writing, even the same pen as the one from saturday...
Now I re-arranged delivery for my saturday item for today and at 12.30 the postman has still not been, I can't wait in all day - I do actually have things to do with my day, I feel like Im playing cat and mouse with my post - If he at least tried to post half the things that would actually fit at least I then wouldn't have to arrange so many re-deliveries

the post-office is the other side of town and I don't drive, but they put on the cards that the item can't be picked up for 48hours anyway so its easier just to get them re-delivered....I am home most days so its not normally a problem as such, sods law I need to pop down the shop today though....
I do resent having to open the door to take in a cd or dvd for example which will fit through the box anyway....especially when he doesn't try to post it, then doesn't knock etc and then leaves a 'sorry you were out card'
EDIT: Wasnt sure if you meant sorting office or actual post office - I assumed sorting office above....but if you meant actual post-office you have to pay £1.50 for each parcel to have it delivered there so it would be silly to pay that amount for every single thing (which as I stated before fits through the box anyway)MFW 2020 #111 Offset Balance £69,394.80/ £69,595.11
