which sbt card for me

Following on from this thread can anyone give me some card recommendations

forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?p=41123718&highlight=#post41123718

I have a card with 1400 pounds on it(5500 is my limit) and an overdraft of 600 (950 is my limit)

I'm thinking of getting a card with 0% for balance transfer or a low rate if I can't get o%

I earn 913 pounds per month after tax. Can anyone recommend me a card. I am due a raise again at work to around 16500 per year. Would this make my chances of getting a card better because if it will I might push for an early rise

Many thanks

Who do you currently have a card with?
    Who do you bank with?

You won't qualify for quite a few of the SBT cards as your salary is low. Post Office has one that accepts lower salaries. I'm not sure if Egg have a minimum salary you have to be on, they might be another one you could try.

  • I bank and have the card with Halifax bank. The main reason I want to do is it is that I am being charged 1pound per day for my over drafte pus 19% plus insurance on my card

Anybody know if EGG just searches Equifax?? Sorry to hijack...
  • Can anyone give me a run through of applying and how I go about telling them about my overdraft and card amounts. Also how do I swap my overdraft onto it if I am accepted?

It will ask you during the application if you want to do a BT. Or you can leave that blank and call them with the details (they will want card number from the other card and your bank acc number) once the card arrives and you are calling in to activate it.

However make sure you are applying for SBT card.. ie one that does let you transfer cash into your bank account. List here http://www.stoozing.com/sbt.php
  • I am going to get all my details in order and apply for a card if anyone has any suggestions which to go for. I'm also gonna push for my pay rise tommorrow and see what work say
