Hello, I hope this is on the right thread. I apologise if not. My elderly mum and dad are experiencing money problems. They have told me that they had a 100 shares in the Abbey National from the time it went public (years ago) but they can't find the paperwork (No wonder if you see the house). Anyway, can anyone tell me how to sort this out...I suppose I need to get the missing cert changed in to santander shares.....then flog them! (On that note how much would they be worth?) It's rough, mum and dad get hit for rates etc and are just over the threshold of being entitled for assistance. Their pensions have been wrecked.

http://www.santandershareholder.co.uk/ might be of help even if only for contact details
I'm pretty sure (but not 100%) that the share certificates will have gone electronic when the Abbey takeover was finalised, so there won't be any Santander certificates. There ought to be statements though, and dividends going into the bank every quarter0
