Frustration with ebay

I started ebaying to make some money for my debts and I had a really positive start but by the 3rd week I'm wishing I never bothered, I had two items bidded on and then no payment received and now I'm having problems with a international bidder refusing to pay the international postage charges for a item, its getting so frustration that I just wanna  why do people have to be so god damn difficult and stupid at times.

anyone else had this problem?

    yes many problems.
have you set your postage only to uk?
  • I did at first but then I started getting interest from oversea buyers and now I've had nothing but trouble since the person bidded was from Germany they never bothered emailing me to ask for international postage they won and when I sent them how much it would cost they refused I think they are expecting me to pay the costs I'm not sure if I should just cancel transaction if they keep refusing to pay but then I'm worried that I will get negative feedback.

If you put the international postage charges in your listing you can avoid one problem you have. Your German buyer would have seen the correct postage rate.
  • Thanks for the replies, she has paid will ship tomarrow I guess its a waiting game now to see what feedback I get but from now on I'm gonna stick with shipping in the UK less stressing :p

It's no more difficult to post abroad than to the next street. The mistake you made was omitting the postage charge for foreign bidders. When buyers can clearly see their costs, that problem disappears.

Shipping international for items below £41 (and about 2kg) is no more hassle than shipping to the UK. RM only has 3 prices domestic, europe and the rest of the world. Set those on your listings and international buyers will automatically get the correct postage they have to pay. A certificate of posting covers you for lost up to £41. It's no problem really people build it up into this huge thing.

I get less problems with international buyers than I do with UK ones. Not shipping out of the UK you are cutting off a huge market.

Probably less stressful not to cut out a large part of the market and make a lot more money to pay off your debts.

I set postage for Europe on all my items as I found myself constantly receiving emails from European countries asking how much to ship to them. I have had no problems at all so far with items sent to Europe and they probably account for 30% of my sales...

Latest problem for me - Buyer won a bid for my single bed, it was listed as Local Pick-Up only. Buyer won it at £9.99! After several days trying to contact buyer to arrange pick-up and payment, buyer comes back with, they are disabled and have no way of picking up the bed. They suggested that I deliver the bed to them instead, 8 mile trek. If I could deliver, I would have charged for the service. As I had no means of delivery and they had no means of collection. I suggested that we cancel the transaction. I put in a cancellation request to get my final fee back, but it was denied because the buyer refused to confirm the cancellation, furthermore they tried to raise an Ebayer Protection case against me for non-delivery of the item!!!! The fact that they had not paid in the first instance completely escaped them. After more than an hour trying to find ebay's customer service dept, I managed to get the whole thing cancelled and won my appeal for reinstatement of my credited fees.

Boy can ebay be hard work sometimes!!!!!
