Having used a guestimated 8,000 kwh for electric and 20,000 kwh for gas calculations I was somewhat surprised to see how many 'new cost' figures varied across several of the switcher sites. When I examined the supplier tariffs they were all mostly identical. Okay, some switcher sites might have more up to date information, that’s no big deal. But I was stunned to see BG's Click tariff was the overall winner across ALL of the switch sites. Surely, this can't be right? What about all those fat cats and the recent negative publicity BG attracted after increasing their prices more than any other energy supplier? Crikey, after spending years despising this organisation and its greedy managers and enjoying buying my energy elsewhere, I’m actually considering returning to BG – I can’t believe it!

BG Click certainly appears to be the current best buy, would anyone else care to comment on this?

There are lots of posts recently making similar comments about their surprise.

However BG did not increase this tariff when they had their last round of rises in September and there has been conjecture that they will increase it soon – when they have got loads more customers switching to them!

That seems to be standard practice these days with utility companies and banks – lure them in and hit them!
  • Just in the process of switching to Click at the moment. As I'm getting £15 for doing it, I won't complain too much if they do decide to put the price up- I'll just switch again and get another £15 ;)
...and then the window licker said to me...

Even after CARDEW actually forecast, spot on, exactly what BG were up to... Like a fool, I switched to BG's click online green tarrif ("green" obviously meaning naive on this occasion!) last month. BG didn't even give me a chance to get a supply started before they upped their prices - what a SHOWER!!
The cheaper BG billing was due to to start in next few days but, I don't care any more, I've just switched again to Ebico - hopefully, they are a reputable company and this will be the last time I need to switch.
