    Do you have many RTC's?

I bet the local police love him wasting their time.

Over the last 15 years, I have had 2 RTCs; neither were my fault and insurance cos resolved both in my favour. I also had PNCD.

The police were brilliant in both instances when I reported the RTCs.

Crikey! Is that the time already.

The way the O.P's luck is going she'll turn up at the cop shop, error on database and computer say, 'No'.

Her vehicle impounded for no insurance and she is banged up for the night as shown as a disqual. driver.

As you point out it is 2011 and a data base is therefore infallible.:D

What are you talking about? I'd appreciate it if you didn't post if you're going to scare monger or be silly.

I haven't spent any money and the car is on my drive. The BMW dealer plan to act on my behalf and have told me not to worry about anything at all. I know the telephone number belongs to the owner of the car, I just don't have the full details.

Next thing, my car is being impounded and I'm a criminal for not reporting a prang when we both have each other's telephone numbers?

Please. I asked a question, but I'm not stupid.

It's all being sorted. The BMW people have spoken to him and got the correct details. They are insured.

They say they have a witness that I rolled backwards into them. Interesting that. They drove off before I did, no-one else stopped, there wasn't much of an incline and I have anti-rollback on my car anyway, so it wouldn't roll back!

Lum, thank you. BMW have paid for an additional policy that indeed covers me if their insurance doesn't pay out.

    BMW paid for it? Sorted!

Good thing on the anti rollback. A friend of mine had someone make a similar false claim, not realising my friend drove an automatic, proper automatic with a torque converter and everything. Shame there's no additional penalty for getting caught telling porkies when a claim is made.
