Not true. You get the £100 incentive if you pay in £1500 within the first three months. You only need to have used their switching service to be eligible for the £100 on leaving (their service guarantee), not an issue if you don't plan to leave. The OP mentioned the regular saver, so I assume he was planning on keeping the account at least a year.
Could try phoning and asking them why they declined you?0 -

I called FD and was told that it does not make a difference whether I choose to transfer my salary or switch my DD/SO to FD or neither. The lady on phone said that FD only looks at these things after the account has been approved. She would not give me any further details regarding any reasons why my application was rejected due to money laundering regulations (I suspect ones the rules for rejections are revealed people can game the application process).0
