You don't need a plasma TV so don't get into debt for it. Anyway once you get your medical needs sorted it won't work in the USA anyway.

    Absolutely!

There's nothing that a plasma tv is going to bring to your life! It'll drop it's value like a stone and you'll end up paying through the nose. It's a pile of electronic junk that you don't need, will probably look out of place in your house and is going to waste a real opportunity for you.......

Open a savings a/c. Put your £27 per week in it. Get yourself better and then use the money that you've saved for something useful (like preparing yourself for your time in the US).

Avoid Provident. Use E Bay if you must have a plasma TV but I would try and save some money for the US. By the way I lived in the States and it has it's drawbacks too! You will soon get fed up with shopping malls and the American way of life!! I love the UK.

Emmm, I'am sure there just upped the inerest or something the last time I looked. I was gona lend the money for a Panasonic Veria Plasma as they have just reduced them to a £1000 but like I mentioned before I'am having a little rethink.

I've tried opening a bank account numerous times with different banks. But no where will open one for me, even a basic account. They put my details into the computer with it always coming back as not accepted, so I gave up and thought I'd try in a couple more years.
Try opening a basic account online,Citibank or Alliance and Leicester, with both you will get cheque book and debit card. Try ro do without the tv and provi, I've been there and now digging myself out. Go to the DFW board and get advice and info from the good folk on there.

Why the hell does someo0ne that has kidney problems need £150 a week whilst living with parents? Just proves that they DONT need it if they can afford to buy bloody plasma tv !!!!!!.
Benefits are supposed to be for living expenses not buying plasma tv's. Anyone that can afford £30 a week off their benefits to give to the provi man is gettingf too much!!!!
Do not judge anyone until you have walked a mile in their shoes!!

OP I hope your Kidney problems are sorted soon.:grouphug:

Kidney problems take over your whole way of life and sometimes the tv is all you have for entertainment.

  • Thanks guys for your kind words. Wasnt going to reply yesterday because my wrists had flared up quite bad, I dont know if its to do with the Renogram scan they did on my kidneys the otherday as they injected some stuff in both arms which made the rest of my arms ach. I'am going to see the doctor next week about my wrists. Someone mentioned before about me wanting to lend the money for a plasma I know it could of come across the wrong way with some people. But at the moment I dont have much of a social life just my family and girlfriend that I have around me.

So its very easy to try and find comfort with buying something, espcieally when you suffer from OCD/Pure-O as well which i've had most of my life, anything can easly become complusive. Its the main reason why I had to go bankrupt last time because of the debt I acculated. I'am 27 years old now and was ready to see a psycologist to confront my OCD for the first time, only to be hit with kidney problems and my Repetive strain disorder which has gotton quite bad. Until I can somehow get them solved I will then be able to seek treatment for my OCD and hopefully be able to more forward with my life. Everything that i'am suffering from now as been a result of being indirectly linked to my OCD (to long to explain why). I just hope its not to little to late and hopefully the need to try and find comfort in buying things will become a thing of the past. As I know matrial stuff really isnt that important, its so easy to forget though when you have a void in which you try to fill.

Most of the time the pain in my wrists/arms and my kidneys disapear, and its that time when i start having ideas of buying something. But when the pain reacures like it has done now. The erge to buy something disapears. It does my head in sometimes, My Pure-O has a part to play in what does this as it creates thoughts that repeat themselves to the point of stopping me from getting to sleep.

Anyway here I am going on with my self in a debt/saving forum about my life. Hope you all don't mind, thought I'd just explain alittle though.

I've only had experience of OCD through a close friend and know that it's something that can take over completely, but it's also someting that can be controlled to a certain extent. Good luck with your progress and I hope that you can get the help that is right for you.

It's obviously stressful for you and I would imagine that having extra debt would add even more stress in the long run.

Heck! I'm just going to keep on at you until I know for sure that you are not going to go for this loan. You really don't need it. The money that you are getting should be being used to improve your situation, but paying Provident £000's in interest isn't the best way to go about it.

As for talking about your health/life situation, take a look round these boards! There are hundreds of others doing exactly the same all over this site! ;)

  • Thanks i'll check it out. Wont be able to do much posting as i'am trying to rest my wrists as much as poss at the monent hence the reason ive been pretty slow at responding. I'am looking into one of those gero mouses that you can use in mid air which have been raved about for people with repetive disorders. Also looking into a speech recogination software to avoid most typing.

thanks for all your advice guys.

just so you know- voice ref software only works really well when there is no other noise at all.
You could still speak to your GP & get help with your OCD meantime.
