  • Hi again,

Sorry I've not been able to response any sooner computers been on the blink. Plus I'am tring to rest my hands due to repetive strain disorder. The repayments work out at £27 p/w. I'am currently on approx £150 p/w benefits.

Sorry, when I said for christmas. I meant a christmas present to myself, I always buy myself christmas presents. And of course for others but that will come out of the rest of my benfits.

I'am a hopeless saver, so although provident do have high interest rates its been quite handy with smaller loans.

  • The best christmas present you can give yourself, is not taking on the burden of more debt!!, think what else you could do with the £27 per month! I would think of saving it towards a holiday break next year, what a rush it would give you to pay for it in CASH!!. Definately worth thinking about!!!

    Debt Free!!!
  • What you say would be true. But I cant save, thats the problem. I'd just end up spending it.

I'am gona sit on the idea for abit until i've totally paid them off which should only take a couple of weeks. see how i feel then.

    thanks for your input guys.

    Kev.....seriously what's the point?

What are you thinking of buying for starters? I doesn't sound as if you are really thinking this through (although well done for posting in the first place). If you opened a simple savings a/c then you'd be able to pay for whatever it is in a fraction of the time.

No one here is going to advise you to go for this, as this is a money saving site, and we don't advise people to flush their money down the toilet here!

    £1000 is £30 pw over 55 weeks £27 pw gets you £900 @ 55 weeks or £1500 @ 105 weeks. I know as I work for them.

Seriously if you live at home why spend so much for 1 day you could have a good fortnights holiday for that.

But if my benefits were for some reason terminated and I still owned provident them the £2000 loan. Does anyone know what they could do to me ? I currently live with my parents so I would of thought they cant take anything of mine off me, also with the loan being classed as unsecured they have no legal right, do they ?

As for your original question if you default and they were to take you to court then a bailiff could take your possessions but not your parents.

In all likelihood they would pass your account out to debt collectors if you didn't pay the agent. They are getting more stringent in pursuing defaulted accounts than in years gone by.

  • Emmm, I'am sure there just upped the inerest or something the last time I looked. I was gona lend the money for a Panasonic Veria Plasma as they have just reduced them to a £1000 but like I mentioned before I'am having a little rethink.

I've tried opening a bank account numerous times with different banks. But no where will open one for me, even a basic account. They put my details into the computer with it always coming back as not accepted, so I gave up and thought I'd try in a couple more years.

The OP explained earlier that he is on benefits until his kidney problems have been sorted out.

Why the hell does someo0ne that has kidney problems need £150 a week whilst living with parents? Just proves that they DONT need it if they can afford to buy bloody plasma tv !!!!!!.
Benefits are supposed to be for living expenses not buying plasma tv's. Anyone that can afford £30 a week off their benefits to give to the provi man is gettingf too much!!!!

How about you get off your lazy !!!! and work for a living to pay for christmas instead of getting state hand outs then you would not need a loan. 150 p/w in benefits, what a joke i would love to have that free a week after woking my !!!!!!!! of all week.

Get off your high horse you coward.

The OP states he will work and has a job to go to as soon as he gets his kidney trouble sorted.

You don't need a plasma TV so don't get into debt for it. Anyway once you get your medical needs sorted it won't work in the USA anyway.

Get yourself fit and when you get over there working with your uncle, then treat yourself.
