How long do I need to wait to add links

I've scanned through the FAQs but can't find reference to how long I need to wait before I can add links to my posts. I'm contributing to a few threads now and find it a tad annoying that I can't add links.

Have I missed anything or am I just being a wee bit impatient.

Thanks, shammyjack, I understand the need. Do you know if the apprenticeship is based on the number of posts or is it done on a time period?

When site impose a 'probationary' period they don't usually release the exact method for determining when it ends as otherwise the spammers know exactly what to do to fulfill those requirements.

Sorry not to be more helpful. I know how annoying it can be if you need to PM someone!

Don't you have to achieve a certain number of posts and be here for a certain period. I asked someone who was good at maths and they devised this formular


links = p x d + q + (v1 + v2)

Links being the magical number once achieved or exceeded allows you to post links.

Also You do need to allow for the variables in v1 and v2 such as post score, quality of posting and if your face generally fits in.

Or just send MSE a Bearings bank cheque for £101.33 to see why they don't allow you to post. Make it £159 and they'll enable links
