Can Somebody Help Please?

Hi Guys,

I am with Scottish Power for electricity and i am on their "Standard Plan" which i understand not to be very cost efficient?.

I had my meter read the other day and although i am only £10 in debit with them they want to put my direct debit up from £30 per month to a whopping £57 per month!.

Last year my annual usage was 4319kWh, can anyone tell me who i can get a cheaper deal with as i have worked really hard to cut all my costs down so i don't want one going up by nearly £30.

Thanks

Suzanne

I think you will find that Scottish power's tariffs that are online oneswill be cheaper. There is much discussion over this one

at the moment but if you are quick you may just get it.and don't take no for an answer!

Have a look at all the posts about scottish power that are ongoing at the moment on this board and you will be able to work out which is best ,just in case they won't let you have it.Or you could go to one of the comparison sites, that will tell you if there are others.

Use a comparison site to discover who will offer you the best rate.
If it is still SP, then call them up and ask to transfer to that tariff :)

Yes, shop around on the comparison websites.

If and when you find someone with a cheaper tariff, look to see if you can get a cashback deal as well, by going on to the Quidco site and linking from them onto the power supplier's website, bypassing the comparison site itself.

Last time I looked, the cheapest deal I found for me was with E-on AND £100 cashback by doing this. You need to use a comparison site first to find the supplier with the best tariff for you and then come out of that site and join via one of the cash-back sites like Quidco (or others).
