No Receipt, no box, but slow cooker not working!

Hi All, 3 weeks ago i bought a Cookworks Slow Cooker from Argos, but its not working.
I threw out the box and receipt, and paid cash (so no record of the transaction).
I dont want money back, i want a replacement. What are my rights (if any)?

    repair or replacement sounds reasonable

    wil lstruggle without a receipt.
  • I think Cookworks is exclusive to Argos, so that may help. It's up to the discretion of the manager, but it may be possible to check the till log for your purchase, but depends what mood they're in.

They don't have to do anything, as you don't have proof of purchase.

    No harm in trying.

You ask specifically about your rights.

Without any proof of purchase I am pretty sure you have no rights.

Do not let that stop you asking Argos if they can help you out though.
  • Just to add that you dont need the box of anything you are returning if its faulty.

Obviously you dont have the receipt as well thats perhaps different, do you have no other proof of purchase as remember a recept is not a legal requirement (issuing or providing)

From now on, keep all boxes for the guarantee period, Its much easier that way, especially if you have to 'send' things back, put the receipt in the box every time and even in 11 months time you will know exactly where the receipt is. Saves a lot of stress
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

As stated above keeping the box isnt necessary but the receipt is.

They might give you a refund but they also might to tell you where to go, worth a shot though
