Wonder how many will still apply late, and then complain about not getting payments on time?0

I may apply late but I won't complain about not getting payments on time.
I don't think it's worth applying now as under current circumstances I'm unlikely to be attending in September. I took a year off due to illness and need to take exams in May in order to progress into my final year in September but at as it currently stands my health has got worse not better.
Do you think it's worth applying anyway?0 -
Yes, apply anyway. It's easier to cancel than to do a new application.0

Mine went through really easily this year - is it because I'm continuing on the same course or have they just made it a lot easier? I did it in my lecture on Monday morning in about 2 minutes.
Last year I read about people's being approved in a day or two if they applied ASAP - is that happening this year? Mine still says submitted.
I thought I'd have a good chance of being approved really quickly as they don't need to verify P60s etc for me, so would only take a few minutes to determine I automatically get the whole lot? Obviously a long time between now and October, but after my uni suspended me last year for finance screw ups the sooner it's done the better!0 -

I think those that were processed that quickly will be LEA assessed students, that were in the system before Student Finance England took over. I was assessed by my LEA in 1 day last year.
I can't see SFE being that quick, but hopefully you won't have problems like last year.0 -
Taiko, I graduate this summer but am hoping to do a PGCE course from september. Seeing as my LEA is now none existant *sob* and as it will be at a different university to my current one, should I apply as a new student or continuing student?0

New student to SFE.
All 11/12 apps are being processed by SFE. In 5 weeks time, LA's will be no more.0 -
Mines now been done, and as far as I could tell I applied for a grant (when it completed it said I may be eligible for up to ~3k, x loan and x tuition fee loan). Now it's changed to tell me what I'm getting and that a declaration has been sent for me to sign, and there is no mention of grant at all.
On the page it says:
From the information you have provided so far, you may be entitled to the following student finance for 2011/12. This does not take your household income into account.
Loans
Maintenance Loan Maximum £3,564.00
Tuition Fee Loan Maximum £3,375.00
So does that mean my grant will be added at a later date? Or do I need to contact them? Thought they were both done at the same time for last year and the year before, so not sure if something has gone wrong somewhere?0 -
Received an email from SFE today:
"You may already have received an email from us confirming we had received your application. This email incorrectly mentioned 2010 courses. This was an error and we apologise for any confusion this may have caused you."
Not exactly the best start! Quickly rectified though.0
