According to the bottom of that thread (in a quote by holidaynights)

Holiday Nights is part of the On Holiday group, which was founded in 2003 by industry veteran Steve Endacott and recently listed as a Sunday Times Fast Track 100 company. Together, the On Holiday Group management team has over 60 years' experience in the travel business.

We offer Supplier Failure Cover (SFC) which allows you to put together your own holiday by booking accommodation and transfers with Holiday Nights, but flights directly with the airline, whilst still being 100% financially protected in a similar way that ATOL protects traditional package holidays. You can purchase SFC for just £4 per passenger online, which covers each component up to £5000 per person providing ultimate financial protection.

Our strategic vision is to create cheaper and more flexible holiday options for our customers by offering quality discounted accommodation.

I have used them about 3 years ago and everything was fine but I must admit I am tending to use the big players i.e. hotel4u.com which is part of thomascook or thomson hotels with the financial situ at the moment because so many airlines, travel firms ec have gone bust over past couple of years and it just makes me feel safer.I am not sure how supplier failure works does that just involve the overseas supplier or themselves?About 5 years ago I booked a hotel for 18 of us with a company who went bust 5 weeks before we were due to travel and abta did reimburse us Otherwise book on a credit card. This is not to say onholidaygroup is not okay and very probably is but just my opinion in uncertain times for everyone no doubt for the big players too.
  • Hi,

I've used Holidaynights several times before and never had a problem with them. Their prices are almost always the cheapest I can find. They're Supplier failure cover I believe covers you in the event of a supplier going into administartion. I found this on their site if this helps '
On Holiday Group provides financial protection via Supplier Failure Cover in the rare event of the insolvency of
one or more suppliers providing the components that make up your holiday, giving you
    complete peace of
    mind.'
  • I used this company a couple of years ago and it was a good then, worth the money paid. Careful on this Supplier Failure Cover, apparently the Insurers providing the security are not FSA regulated, don't have a Financial rating, are run from a shopping complex in the West Indies and do not have any financial reports. Not exactly 'Complete Peace of Mind', might be worth checking up on as if they are using that sort of security it could be that other parts of the service have also been down graded.
