Santander actually got it right!!

After all the bad press about santander on here I though i should do a quick post.
Having been with santander on and off (depending on what deal they had running at the time) for a couple of years now i decide to sighn back up for their 5% in credit account with a £100 incentive.
I knew what i was letting myself in for and checked all the paperwork carefully and watched the account. After sending off all the forms all the paperwork came back correct and my DD was changed within 2 weeks.
Account was all set up shortly and i transferred in the 2.5k to take it to the limit.
Account has been fine since and yesterday after 2 months i got the £100 incentive paid in with my monthly interest.

With luck like this should I go and buy a lottery ticket tonight?

Another thing Santander get right is incoming FPS payments to credit cards. Not even Amex get this right.

If I withdraw money from a cash machine abroad with my Santander Zero credit card, I need to pay off the amount immediately so that I don't incur interest. If I pay by FPS from Barclays, it appears on my Santander Zero card online banking in under 10 seconds. We already know that Barclays do FPS properly so the sending part would not be a problem, but that's impressive in light of all the bad stuff we've heard about Santander on here. It's particularly astonishing that Santander get the amount applied to the relevant credit card account within seconds and get it to appear in online banking.

If only Santander could improve their online banking to support Microsoft Money (QIF) and PDF statements.
  • Santander also get right their OTP which is actually a good idea in my opinion
Online Banking does contain more detailed statement compared to other banks tbh
