This response looks like SEO paid-for spam (keywords in the hyperlink), so I really wouldn't trust this recommendation.

In response to what gmgmgm said, I've attached a pic of my kitchen.. I've been a contributing member to this forum for a while and I can assure you that I'm not spamming. :)

The lighter colours are fine, it's the darker ones you need to worry about. Despite the disclaimer, I've had to rip out 3 sets of the black slab tech as they were marking far too easily.

Bear in mind that Apollo is the name that Sheridans gives to all its products. (i.e. Apollo wood, quartz, granite, slab tech etc etc)

Does the independent have a full display of the product, or is it just the 4" samples he has? And if it is a full display, what colour is it?

    the 8 samples

we are thinking of the lighter ones, i.e. snowflake

You should be fine with that. It will still scratch, the scratches just wont be that visible as they would on a darker colour.

Make sure whoever is fitting it has had the relevent training. It's more complicated than say laminate worktops are. If they aren't fitted properly, they will look terrible.

That looks great thanks for posting. I've bookmarked Maldon glass for future reference as not a million miles from us

Would glass not be prone to scratching though?

......and prone to cracking if you dropped a heavy pan on it? That's the main reason I have discounted a glass worktop but will be using that material for my splashbacks.

Glass worktops are no more prone, to scratching or cracking through having heavy pans dropped on them, as quartz or granite worktops are.

Rather pricey - generally more than quartz or granite for a straight forward modular kitchen.

Once you start adding shapes and curves and polishing that's when all this stuff gets expensive.

To the OP - what's your budget and how much product do you need I might be able to point you in the right direction.

I didn't intend to cause offence, but if people try putting keyword links into posts on a popular web-site, which look very much like an attempt to influence Google et al, it looks exactly like SEO (search engine optimisation) spam.

Glad to know it's just linking to a commercial supplier twice, not SEO spam.
