Working Tax Credit Help Please

Hi
Ive just applied for a new job and was wondering if i would be able to claim working tax credits, as one week i would be working 15 1/2hrs then the following week 19hrs, so not sure how that would work.
Thanks in advance

it depends on your circumstances. do you have a partner?
    do you have children?
    are you disabled?
    are you over 25?

in that case as long as your hours average out to over 16 a week you should be able to claim.

Yes you're right! I thought there was an exception for disabled - and there is but only if entitled to the disabled worker element which you aren't if the disabled person isn't working!

I suspect this might be changed before the rules come in, it is so blatently unfair that a single parent can get WTC on 16 hours but someone supporting a disabled partner plus kids can't.

The LITRG are on the case...

They have quite a good record as they know what they're talking about...

BTW this isn't happening till 2012 so no immediate worry...
