aliasojo - are you thinking of both cats and dogs? we were just thinking of dogs but everyone keeps saying cats could be a popular one too as there is less to do with them and they dont want to know you:D

im only looking at a very small scale kennels at the moment, though it all depends on planning permission and licensing etc

At the moment (very early thoughts) I'm thinking of dogs, cats and also small caged animals. My vet is a fantastic source of info and advice and knows the area well and going by the amount of times they are asked about 'holiday cover' for pets (all sorts of pets), there's a lot of people out there who simply are not happy with the present local offerings .....and as their aunty jean just isn't happy about sharing her home with a wet muddy dog or a small rodent (no matter how cute), they're stuck. :D

Would you PM me - or post here - when you're up and running, hjb?

I'd be interested in good, well run boarding kennels for my dogs.

    Thanks.
  • I would be wary of sofas/soft furnishings as they would be difficult to adequately disinfect between occupants.
I also prefer not to put my cat somewhere that keeps dogs unless the buildings are very far away from each other so he can't see or hear them.
