Online Credit Card PPI

Hi,
I've been reading up on reclaiming PPI, and I wondered if anybody could help me with a couple of questions I have?
I applied online for a Natwest credit card about 5 years ago, but hardly used it at all until the last 18 months or so. I hadn't realised until recently that I've been paying for PPI in my monthly statements. However, I can't remember ever agreeing to it.
I note that on the PPI advice page it says that it's difficult to reclaim if the application was made online. My suspicion is that during the application there was a pre-ticked box from which I was meant to 'opt out', but I've no idea how to prove this.
I wonder whether anybody else has had any success from online credit card application? Is it significantly more difficult to reclaim your money? Thanks

The reason it's difficult with online applications is that you were not mis-sold as you were not sold to at all; you offered to buy at the terms stated. You were not given any advice, good or bad about the product you alone decided to buy."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100
