First Plus PPI Mis sold success story

Options
Thought I would share our success story over mis sold PPI from First Plus. We took a loan out just over 5 years ago with First Plus and just like so many others of you was led to beleive that we would only get the loan if we took the PPI even though my wife had seperate insurance. $ months later we needed a further loan which not only wrapped the original loan + PPI into a new loan but added a further PPI. For the past 2 years I have been battling with First Plus including paying for the taped conversation when the loan was taken out. In the end we went to the financial ombudsman and on the 14th January we recieved a letter from them saying that First Plus now agreed that the PPI was mis sold. On Saturday we got cheques for over £9K plus over £21K has been taken off the loan.:j
Don't give up. Follow Martins steps. Use the FO as they really do work. It has taken us nearly two and a half years but we have got back in excess of £30K including the interest,

well done, i wish i had taken my case forward 2 years ago...when firstplus sent me the breakdown of the loan and i saw they had included ppi i called them immediately asking for it to be removed, the gentleman said he would have to recalculate and it would affect my loan.i had no option but to continue. i asked them for a copy of the telephone conversation as i remember it so well.....they fobbed me off and closed my case giving me the option of the ombudsman..i did not follow it up..i now wonder if it is too late as they did not respond to my request for a copy of the tele conversation...
    any advice?

    thanks
