Does house contents insurance work for tenants?

Hi there,

I currently have Tenants insurance with Endsliegh.

I've seen another massive hike in premiums on renewal (£175 to £205), but noone else seems to do the same type of cover.

So does anyone know if "normal" house insurance (contents only, obv) work for someone who is a tenant rather than an owner?

Contents cover would cover their contents only, and can take out a general policy in their own name.

Great, I'll have a look into this option as well then!

    thanks
  • If you google "tenants insurance" you'll find other providers that do the same type of cover. If you want to know whether a standard home contents policy will cover a tenant then your best bet is to ask the insurer.
