Business/Personal bank account?

Hi
I've been running a small business (I'm a franchisee) as a sole trader for 3.5 years, and up to now have banked at NatWest with a business account. I have all my personal accounts there too.
I'm a bit fed up of the charges accruing each month for paying in cheques, etc.
As far as I see it, I've got 2 options (if I want to change!):
1) close the business account and open a new separate personal account either at NatWest or elsewhere
2) close the business account and open a new business account at another bank, which has less charges
Any tips on which I should do? Or which banks offer good rates for business accounts?
Many thanks
