Does anyone have an HSBC basic account?

Would love some feedback on how long it took to open and if you got a debit card at all?

I've trawled the basic bank accounts threads but can't find much on HSBC.

My dad used to have one before he upgraded it to the standard account, you get a cashcard not a debit.

Thanks, their updated terms and conditions for Dec 2010:

page 39 does state they issue ether an ATM card or debit card at their discretion for basic bank accounts.

So I just wondered if anyone has any experience of getting one/ not getting one recently and how long it took to open the account?
