Will this effect/stop CTC?

My parents get CTC for me on the basic rate as I'm 19 and still in full-time education
However, I've just been awarded DLA Low rate care (in my own right) and wondered if this will effect the CTC?

They might get a bit more! I think there is a disabled child premium. It certainly won't reduce or stop CTC.0

That's what I suspected, thanksNo longer using this account for new posts from 20130

you only get the premium on middle or high rate care.0

Actually bonnie was correct.
CTC Disability Element isn't paid for low rate.

Whoever told you that is wrong…

‘CTC consists of a family element, a child element for each child in the family, a baby element if there is a child under one year old, a disabled child element (for each child who gets DLA or is registered blind) and a severely disabled child element (for each child who gets DLA highest rate care component).’

Child Tax Credit
An extra amount may be included in your Child Tax Credit award for any child within your family who gets either component of DLA, or is registered blind, or who has been taken off the blind register in the last 28 weeks. It is paid in addition to the child element for that child.
You may also be awarded a severe disability element for each child in your family who gets the highest rate of the care component of DLA. This is paid in addition to the child element and the disability element for that child.0 -
Use the calculator here

It clearly says;
"A child is classed as disabled if:
• you are receiving Disability Living Allowance (DLA) on behalf of that child"0 -
That's what they said when we phoned

I don’t think that all the ‘Help line’ staff know the rules themselves…
If you look at the way the application form is laid out you can see that it doesn’t mention lower/middle rate.
We get the disability premium for our eight year old and she is on lower rate DLA.0 -
I wasn't sure if it was different as I am over 16 so recieve the DLA myself, not to my parents.
They seem to know the rules for a "child" but not a "young person"No longer using this account for new posts from 20130
