Tesco life insurance price promise

Has anyone got 1000 points from tesco for taking out life insurance and then finding a cheaper one. How easy and quick is it? Can I apply for it online, but not sign the papers, and then cancel it, and get the cheaper quote I got from frinds provident? I'm a bit worried if I sign the document they'll take money out for the 1st month, and I wont get it back.
