Do I have to renew car insurance straight away?

My car insurance is up on the 19th Feb but I’m currently a named driver on another car I have access to, what are the implications of me not renewing for a couple of months grace? (I can keep the car off the road in a locked garage or it is possible I can leave it at a friends car lot where it will be covered by his fleet insurance if it helps my situation!)
I know my NCB will last for 2 years and I have tried suspending my insurance with 'More Than' since Jan 29th but they really don’t have a clue what they are doing!!!
Many thanks in advance.

There are no implications regarding this (as long as you accept the risk that your car might be stolen/vandalised/torched etc).
Regarding suspending the policy, as you had less than a month to go before it expired when you were wanting to suspend it then there was no point (they don't give any refunds for suspensions less than a month).0 -
I wouldnt think that a fleet policy would cover a privately owned car not used in connection with business?
As your policy is so close to renewal there would be no benefit to you to suspend the policy as you would still have to pay etc until the renewal date.0 -
The main risk is theft/fire/damage to the car.
Probably fairly low risk in a locked garage but you might want to disconnect the battery.0
