Wait to speak to CCCS on Monday before you make any decisions.
It is true that CCCS are partially funded by the credit industry as kaya says. But CCCS act impartially on behalf of your the debtor and recommend the right solutions for you. And they always give you various options rather than tell you what you must do.
Regarding kaya's point on bankrupty - it is a common misunderstanding that if a person goes bankrupt they would not pay anything back. In reality if you have a surplus amount of funds then you would have an income payment arrangement or income payment order for 3years and a percentage of your surplus cash for those 3 years would go to paying back something towards your creditors.
Stu -thats not to say I am saying bankruptcy is or isn't the right way to go for you, or suggesting you are hoping to get out of paying anything back it is simply a comment on how BR works.
Stu have you set up a new bank account with another bank yet? one not connected to any of your creditors? if you haven't then you could start doing that while you wait for your CCCS appointment. Another thing you could do in the meantime is look at the CCCS debt remedy tool (if you haven't already) which might give you an idea as to what solution they will suggest for you.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

but i have been looking at banks i was thinking of barkleys....but not sure what banks are in line with...HFC 02 loyds and santander0 -
Re bank accounts - have a look at this link http://www.payplan.com/debt-news/2011/01/20/right-to-offset/
HFC although not mentioned are part of the HSBC group.
O2 as they are not a bank are not connected to any (in terms of the abiloty to offset).A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

My Wife works in the finance industry, CCCS is a service funded by the people you owe the money too, it ensures that they get their money you owe them one way or another, they merely "stretch" out your debt for you so your in debt for longer under the guise of being a friendly face who makes life easier for you, either way the debt you owe still stands and they get the money out of you before you realise you could go for bankrupcy and they get NOTHING AT ALL , personally i dont think stretching a debt i can't afford to pay out over a longer period of time is really helping anybody (apart from the people i owed the money to in the first place) we live in a world of smoke and mirrors.
If that is the case, why do CCCS advise bankruptcy in certain situations? or an IVA? as well as the more regular DMP.
It would seem that you are misinformed about CCCS and maybe, just maybe, some people would actually like to attempt to pay the money back.I'm Debt Free :j 2/09/2013

Stu can I recommend the co-op cash minder ( I think that is what it is called) You can get online banking and a cash visa card but they accept bankrupts and do not close the account if you become bankrupt..if you know what I mean.
As long as you don't go overdrawn or do anything silly there is no problems with their account .
Also to add to Tixy's fab post I went to the court last week to see our local money advice about bankruptcy and they told me that if you have anything over £10 left per month you would pay towards your debitors. It use to be £100 I believe but it went down
OH and another quick point, according to them they say the fees are set to rise in April so if you are ready and able it might be worth you getting in before then.There is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;
So they break the hearts of kith and kin, and roam the world at will.
