Hi. I just found out about this site. They seem to have a load of films, and I think you download a program, and then you can stream the films online, without paying.
So what's the catch? They can't just be allowing you to watch these films for free, can they? Is it illegal, on copyright grounds?
If it is illegal, can anyone recommend a site where you can pay a small fee to download or stream movies?
I know I sound very naive- I've not done any downloading of films.

Cheers. So what would happen, you would get a virus or spyware or something? I just can't see what would be in it for them- hosting an illegal site, presumably with the possibility of fines or jail, and they're not making any money, except maybe a bit from advertising...
I didn't know lovefilm had an online service now- they didn't when I was a member. I'll have to check that out.0 -
Well theres no need to download any program to view the content on the site. You just follow the links to sites like MegaUpload ect. youll then have to wait while the count down timer runs, then click on the standard download button. Downloads are video files avi/mp4 type files that will play in VLC media player. Lots of american TV and movies available most good quality, but some screeners as for any movie downloads. Virus are unlikely but you should be running an AV program as default anyway shouldn't you.
They are not hosting any files they are an indexing site - that is they provide links to the files but donot have any content on their servers.
Yes the advertising pays for their site.
Legality is another question entirely.0 -
next you will be telling us you have trawled the legal zeropaid.com and found other site names;)
Some of these sites have been found legal in their home country, but because the USA do not like them, have seized their .com name, so they have had to re-register a new dns under a slightly different name that usually does not end in .com.0
