Water Ingress Warranty - 2 yr old car
Hi,
Hope someone can help.
I have a Ford Fiesta 09 plate which will be 2 years old at the end of March.
At the weekend I noticed my boot carpet was soaking wet, with no obvious source. I don't keep any liquids in the boot etc. I lifted the boot carpet up & it is absolutely soaking.
From a quick search on the net, it appears that there are huge problems with Ford Fiesta & Ka's with this same issue.
However, water ingress is only covered by a 1 yr warranty.
When looking out my paper work to get the ford dealers phone number I found my work sheet from my 1st service last year. I didnt notice it at the time (:o) but in the comments in says "water in boot". So they obviously noted it, but didnt say anything or do any repairs. My boot is usually covered with a thick rubber boot mat, so I havent noticed the water at all.
Any idea how to approach Ford/dealer to see if they will cover this under warranty? Its a known fault, which I know some fiesta owners have went to bbc watchdog with to try & get them to cover it as they beleive it should be recalled.
TIA
