Reversing a Paypal Refund

I refunded a customer in Italy for a missing item, but he has mailed this morning to say it has arrived.

Can I reverse the refund, or will I have to issue a request for payment. His English isn't good, and my Italian is non-existant so explaining this could be a challenge

Not sure if you can reverse the refund. (Dont think so!)
Easiest is to issue a request for payment. My Italian is also non-existant but I use Google translate. If you go on to Google there is an option for more ... scroll down to Translate. You insert the English and it translates it to any language, then you just copy the translation.

    Hope this helps

You may want to have the first sentence read something along the lines of 'Please excuse the use of an online translator'. Works for me and has lead to great feedback. :D

You can't reverse the refund but you can re issue the original invoice. Try this first and see if he pays, if not google translater will get the message across.

Agreed but also send the original English version as well.

That way if there is a problem with the translation he has the option of getting somebody local to translate the English for him.

Use the REQUEST MONEY tab. You can then either just REQUEST MONEY or CREATE INVOICE.
  • Thanks for all the advice. I issued a payment request through Paypal and mailed him using a translator advising what I had done.

Nice of him to tell me it had arrived, it was posted on 3rd Jan !
