Rockwell Sonicrafter

Saw an advert for this tool over the weekend: Rockwell Sonicrafter

Anyone used one, think they are any good or have a better alternative?

It seems like quite a handy little DIY tool, especially to do most of the things I'll need at the moment!
  • Bosch do a similar multitool at your local B&Q store, a cable mains unit and a battery rechargable.

Looks like I saw the same shopping channel - was it the Worx branded one? I was very impressed, and searched the net. Apparently the blades etc can be expensive, so it's best to get one with lots supplied. I also found out that Aldi have stocked one for £40, so I'm waiting for there one to come back - whilst not the best they great for occasional DIY use.

The CEL version gets good reviews on Amazon and is UK made and supported.

There are quite a few of these oscillating multi-tools around now, and once you have used one you will wonder how you managed without it

Fein are the market leaders but are (relatively) expensive for occasional use, but there are many others now from £40 upwards. Just make sure that the one you get has a good availability of the saw blades, as various ones use various fittings - but there are some universal bits available

Fein is the original and best. All others are copies. The Rockwell one has a reputation for apalling customer service (the insides are Chinese and they can't source spares easily). Bosch and Dremel are essentially the same piece of kit and the Dremel blades fit the Fein.

There are others on the market too. Worx have one for example.
