  • with bet365 thhe options for exclusion were 6 months, 1 year, 3 years or 5 years, so just to clarify i took longest option available to me as i do really want to stop!!!!

On a good note Chelsea never won last night which is what I would of put my money on!!!

I am planning on using the gym more and going to classes also so should fill up more time to prevent me from thinking about gambling.

I also want to point out, I am not in debt through gambling, I have actually done ok at times making profits but overall I will be down, I know that for sure. It's spells where I seem to get dragged into it more and more and start getting dragged into the chasing game!!!

Try not to think like a gambler, don't allow yourself to have betting thought, if you see the bookies look away straight away or watch how miserable people seem to be when they are smoking outside it. Never allow yourself a positive thought about gambling, if you can do that, you've won the game.

    Good move about the gym.

Regarding how much you've won or lost, thats a gambling thought. Try not to have those. The point you must remember is you are playing a mathematical equation set by the bookies which is totally against your favour. It is a mugs game, which many families have been ruined over and it's usually all started with a 'not bad' winning streak, followed by a period of 'ok' returns, followed by a period of 'some losses', followed by chasing a loss and a few 'double down's later ... and bang, life saving gone and a your soul sold to the banks through debt.

The real trick is to know, from today, that you will never gamble again and enjoy the power of this self knowledge from now and forever.

Its criminal isn't it that you cant self exclude for longer than 5 years in most places. Either the government haven't got a clue how credits card companies and betting companies are screwing over so many people or they are in on it.

OP, have a look at Gamblock. It is designed to detect any gambling software/websites, and will give you a warning that your PC will shut down if the site is not closed within x minutes.
    Best Regards

OP - good luck. One thing though, Gamblock will also block you from this wonderful site, I believe.

    Hi,

I have had this problem too, gamblers anonymous did not help they didnt even call me back. I kicked this habit by going out and paying all my bills first, then buying all my shopping and paying everything i could, what cash i had left i spent on bits like saver stamps for morrisons supermarket and maybe a dvd or xbox game if i had enough.

After i had spent up, i had nothing to gamble with and then i realised, that the people who run fruit machine shops have done and don't do anything for anyone except make cash for themselves from mainly pensioners with nobody to visit them and nothing to do with their pension, they do nothing for the community and if you got no cash they don't want anything to do with you. no more, they get nothing from me now.
    Owed out = lots.

just a note to you to stay strong and remove yourself from all online accounts...i blew £1k earlier on this afternoon cause i had a major relapse. good luck in your journey and i hope you stay strong! i am off to to think my way out of this, thought to be honest i will just do nothing about it because no matter how much i do, it never happens for me. but i have found that keeping busy is the easiest way out of this problem, its just finding those things to keep you busy. i hate being addicted to gambling, but i cant find anything else that seems to give me the high...win or lose i just love it. sad i know!! but my own fault for not staying strong and i am sure that one day i will be able to beat it. sorry for the rant, still just a bit pee'd off :)
