Ive not been with Santander long, I'd say about 1.5 years.
When i switched online, they was meant to do everything - an easy switch they said.
I had to cancel half the direct debits from the old account because they hadn't.
I had a battle to enure th e bills were paid because Santander couldnt tell me which direct debits were going to be paid ontime after the switch and they wouldnt increase the overdraft temporarily to allow for their error.
I have paid cash in over the counter to realise later on the receipt that my money was paid into someone elses account. I did eventually get my money back.
Ive also had someone elses cheque paid incorrectly into my account just last month
I have used the callcentre to verify some payments due to come out of my account. I passed security and was told there are no pending payments due and the only payment was for a transaction in another town?
I phoned a second time to be told that the prev agent probably had another persons bank details on screen because they infact COULD see the pending transactions and COULD NOT see the transaction in this other town.
Luckily when someone else got my cash I had the receipt, but i think this was because they asked if i wanted one.
I now always ALWAYS request a receipt for any transaction with Santander. Nothing personal to you guys at this bank, but i simply cant trust anything you do unfortunately

Satander (no not a typo) are rubbish. Move to First Direct, I've been with them now for about 5 years and they are excellent. Phones answered by real people from UK call centres within about 20 seconds.0
