Car "incident" - where do I stand?

Let me disclaim this by saying I'm probably being a little paranoid, but here goes:
Earlier this evening (it was dark) I went to the petrol station. As I pulled into the entrance another car came towards me (going the wrong way out the entrance). I stopped and looked at him, with my hands in the air mouthed: "the exit is over there!".
I then drove around him and towards the pumps - nowhere near his car and making zero contact. I look back and he's got out of his car waving his arms, so I get a bit unnerved and drive away. I was, quite frankly, scared that he was going to come over and be angry/want an argument for me gesturing to him - so I drove off for my own safety. I'm then convinced he chased me through some suburbs until I finally lost him. Is it possible he thought I struck his car, or was he just angry?
There's not a mark on my vehicle and, again, I DEFINITELY did not hit him, I'd hear something like that right? I had my g/f with me who saw everything, and he had someone with him.
So am I right to be worried or should I just forget it and move on?

forget it and move on. Probably someone looking for a fight. If you did hit his car (highly unlikely) and he wants to pursue it he could contact the petrol station and ask to see cctv footage and you would know soon enough. If there was any come back you just explain what you have typed above.

Sounds like he didn't like being told he was leaving via the exit and got out as he didn't lie you telling him. Don't worry about it.0

I'd have got out and filled up assuming it was day time. There's no better place for a fracas than a petrol station with all the cameras and what not pointed at cars to catch people doing drive offs.
If someone follows you try to take them to a Police station that is open.0 -
Sounds like he felt you has "dissed him man" and he was looking to have a bundle, in these situations it is best to avoid confrontations, as it is very likely that this sort of selfish bully boy would have a "tool" somewhere in the car for just such a situation.
Bullies never change, they just get older and not any wiser.0 -
CCTV in a petrol station usually.......... I wouldn't worry TBH...... Start wearing Superman T shirts and you'll have no more hassle.0

You should have started filling up and then sprayed him with petrol if he came near you!!0

I find people who think rules only apply to others are a braincell short of having a lonely braincell.
In a line of traffic queueing a car overtakes on the wrong side of the road then tries to cut in front of me.
I shake my and told him no chance. He then starts swearing at me and forces his way between oncoming cars.
Several minutes later he is still in the queue 3 cars ahead. Utterly brainless. You should try a defensive course
racing through the streets is not going to shake someone off who was intentionally chasing you. Unless you have
a supercar and an empty motorway.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

He was just !!!!ed off because he did what he did deliberately and saw you as "playing the plastic police man".
If he'd made a genuine mistake he wouldn't have been bothered.
When people try to tell me what to do when they have no right to do so, I do get pretty f*cking annoyed.
Now im not being "funny" here, you were probably just trying to be helpful to someone who you thought was simply making a msitake.......
It's probably best to mind your own business and let them carry on, you'll be witness to any accident that may result.....
It's not your place to be enforcing the law and nobody will ever thank you for it.... Least of all "the law".“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Not on a dual carriageway I hope??
"Merge in turn"
"Use both lanes"“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Even you don't overtake on the wrong side of a dual carriageway do you, then try to "merge" back into the queue?0
