So this is the third time it`s broken within 6 months. Is it the same problem? If so I would say you can reject it as it`s faulty and not fit for the purpose it was sold. You are entitled to a replacement or refund. As the model is not made anymore then you should agree on a suitable replacement. If it`s more expensive then you would have to pay the difference. If the shop insist on a repair contact your Local Council Trading Standards for advice. Need to act quickly to keep within 6 months where the onus is on them to prove it wasn`t faulty when sold after 6 months the onus is on you but you still have the same rights.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

which model was it? im assuming the HD-NW range??
tell them that its not your fault the players have been discontinued (new range i think is why)
this one
tell them its not good enough
the latest range are also 20gb
you have paid for a sony 20gb MP3 player and if they arent able to replace you with the same model they should replace it with a same spec similar model ie the last one pictured which is the latest modelYes Your Dukeiness0 -
Just in case they say taht you are not entitled to a refund because you accepted repairs, does not mean that you have accepted the goods. You are still entitled to reject them
If you can, get the person to write down the reason why they are rejecting them (just tell them you're thick (NOT SAYING YOU ARE! LOL!) or have a poor memory or something like that), and if it shows contravention of legislation, you have some good proof to give your local Trading Standards Dept!Don't bother trying to sue me - I've got no money!0 -
