A Levels or BTEC - are they really equal?

Both my daughters are currently at uni. Both did 4 'A' levels out of choice. School tried to talk them out of it. One got 3 A's and a B the other 4 A's so it can be quality as well. If they are prepared to do the work and believe me it's very hard they can do as many 'A's as they want!
