I had a car accident on Friday. No one was hurt a guy drove into the back of mine. The guy accepted full liability hes insurance company have comfirmed to mine that they except full liability. My car is gonna be ready in about 3 1/2 weeks I was just wondering of I still have to pay the excess when I pick the car up and wait to get reinbursed. I could really do without forking out any more money.
The garage did ask me to pay it straight away when I picked up the courtesy car but i refused.
Any advice would be of a great help

You have entered into a contract that states you must pay the excess on any claim. At your insurers discretion however they can waive the excess and simply include it as part of their losses. They are under no obligation to do this but many do as a gesture of goodwill - phone them up and ask if they can waive it.
If they wont waive it then you have to pay and reclaim it from the other party... though if you have Legal Expenses cover your insurers will handle this/ appoint someone to handle this for you.
The alternative, if you havent had your vehicle inspected etc yet then you could claim directly from the third party insurers... if it has been inspected then your insurers may have incurred costs which means you cannot switch which insurer you are allowing to handle the claimAll posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
