I'm having a bad day but I'm determined to finish the housework by the end of today. DS was disturbed last night by my family coming round and wouldn't go back to sleep. I ended up sleeping on the sofa with him and now I'm stiff and very grumpy. He's gone down for a nap now thank god.

Anyway, anyone up for a HHC then I'm not doing anymore for a bit?

We have the icky brown colour as well but it only happens in the main bathroom and not in the other 2 toilets it has puzzled me for ages why it happens.

My bathroom loo and middle loo are the ones affected. These are mains fed, it could be that your other two are off of the cold water tank in the loft. IYKWIM ;)

  • After months of contemplating on whether to get a dishwasher and finally buying 1 just before Christmas Ive come to the conclusion that Washing up youself is soooo much quicker!! Why does it take so bl00dy long!!! Grrrrrrrrrr

I was warned that you need twice as many cups, plates......etc
but I load mine as I go and put it on last thing at night, we have our own identifyable mugs and they just get rinsed in between use or hand washed as necessary. I would like to be able to get it to come on with cheap rate [economy 7] electric but have yet to get a timer sorted for it.

Are you aware that this is a potential fire risk? Hoping not to offend but after mine overheated (thankfully one afternoon when I was in) I never leave the dishwasher/washing machine/tumble drier on over night.
  • So this is where we're at today...still snotty but not too bad. Hope everyone's doing ok!

  • Hi everyone

Well... the hard drive on my computer suddenly seized up completely on Tuesday, so I've been computer-less for a couple of days. I have felt completely lost without my lists (both here and elsewhere) and spent yesterday *soooooooo* depressed it wasn't believable! Anyhow, it has gone to be looked at today; and thank heavens I happened to have done an 8-hour back-up of everything on Saturday night....(after not backing up for - hem - a while) The thought of what could have happened is still giving me the shakes...(loads and loads of my research on that hard drive).

So - if you haven't backed stuff up in a while, for heaven's sake do it pronto!

Hubby has lent me his work laptop, so I feel human again. Have spent the morning gardening and cooking, so now it's the turn of...

Just finished Thursday's list and done all of Friday's apart from the ironing and 30 mins doing something nice. Got a funny feeling tomorrow is going to be spent packing for going skiiing on Saturday plus got both kids home so will do my best.

If I don't come back on tomorrow hope you all have a good week next week!

good point :) I remember a fireman once telling me that electrical appliances are responsible for quite a lot of fires, followed by unattended candles. I will stick to my usual method, load up after dinner, dishwasher on, feet up, telly [STRIKE]watching[/STRIKE] listening, while I do my knitting:T
