Removing marks on walls - Student halls

I'm in halls are their prices are ridiculous if you break or damage anything. I unfortunately have two marks on my wall. One was my mother, who scraped the wall with the rubber sole of the suitcase when lifting it on the bed bed.
The second looks like stains from wet clothes that I have put onto the heater to dry.
Is there anyway to remove either of these stains cheaply, without painting all of the wall? (I have no idea how to paint)

Sometimes dry bread removes marks, yes honestly, just rub it with a slice like you would pencil marks with a rubber, or you can buy stain type removers like:

Are you sure the marks by the radiator won't dry out given a bit more time?"On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." My hero, Mr Steer.0 -

Magic erasers are fab for all sorts of cleaning and you can get hold of a block for about £2.20

There is also a tub of stuff called Astonish ( costs less than a quid from the usual cheapo shops) Try it in an unobtrusive corner first and rub it gently, then rinse. May need a second attempt. Has easily moved scuff marks from emulsioned walls and saved many a T from issues over deposit return,
However, depending on whether your damp clothes have left colour transfer on the walls, you may need to coat with a stain block and then re-emulsion.
If you are capable of being at University then you ought to be capable of repainting an emulsioned wall.Leaflets available for numpties , in all DIY sheds, or you could try this0 -
Not sure it'll work for either of the stains you've described, but diluted washing up liquid dabbed on with a cloth works wonders on Blu-tack marks."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0

I managed to remove most of the long black mark with just water and a towel. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what paint they've used, but its come off with the mark.
Even if you lick your finger and rub it against the wall the paint comes off onto your finger.
I asked them if I could buy some paint and cover the marks. They said no and they will be charging £70 per wall to paint it if there are any marks.

I lived with Unite, and was charged about £140 out of my deposit. I appealed it, claiming I had photographic evidence and that the marks were "fair wear and tear".
The appeal went through the deposit scheme (to keep your deposit safe), and as Unite failed to respond to my appeal, it was awarded to me and my deposit refunded.
TAKE PHOTOS OF EVERYTHING WHEN YOU LEAVE - they will claim half the walls need repainting, the microwave needs cleaning etc etc.
I am OBSESSIVELY good at cleaning and I couldn't believe they had the cheek to charge me, especially as I moved in as it had finished being built and was full of dust and dirt.
Unite, what a horrible company.
