what can i use please to remove grease marks from kitchen ceiling (probably caused by fat fryer use). I have a steamer but dont fancy using it upright in case of accidents. any advice appreciated, as really dont no what else to use.0

I think sugar soap is the stuff to use but I'm sure you have to becareful about it getting on your skin so putting in on the ceiling you would also have to watch your eyes too (unless your a looney like me and will DIY in swimming goggles for safety! hahaha)
I personally would probably just use good old fairy liquid or stardrops in warm water and scrub with a scrubbing brush.
Hopefully someone more usefull will be along shortly, good luck xWhy does my dog chase cars? Even if he caught one he hasn't passed his test!0 -
lemons will break down the grease.. when i worked in a pizza delivery job they used to use lemon flash to clean the greasy surfaces..
sugar soap would work.. possibly even white vinegar?Sealed pot challenger # 10

What would I do? Wash the ceiling with Sugar Soap, then paint over it with a PVA and water solution and then re-paint.0

thanks for all your great advice.0

I agree with B&T, the only way to remove this kind of grease mark permanently is to create a barrier to stop the grease seeping back through the paint.
We have an older thread with some ideas so I've merged both threads to keep the suggestions together.
