Ford Mazda MOT

Went to Sandicliffe Trent Bridge for my car service. The Sandicliffe network mainly do Fords but take on work for Mazda, although they rate less highly in this regard compared to other garages in the Midlands (better reviews for Trinity in Leicester and Colliers in Birmingham). Took my car there for a service which is normally done fine. Because it had expired, I had to get an MOT there also to save time. Service done as per normal but got a huge bill to replace Tires and Brake pads that were only borderline. 1 of the Tires were supposedly too low on tread and 2 of Brake pads were at 20%, so it was just easier to get the whole set done there. The salesman smiled as he offered me a range of tire prices. I took the Pirelli PZero for £142 each, even though you can have them fully fitted locally (Blackcircles.com) for £70 each. All done with poor customer service and they didn't even wash the car.

Follow the advice from moneysavingexpert and use a Council-run MOT garage (there is one in every town) to get your MOT done. There are plenty of reports here of customers getting £1000 bills for repairs, taking the car down to the road to another garage, and passing the MOT. I feel like a complete sucker now that I have joined this club, and and won't be taking the family cars back to the dealership again. They have definately lost my trust and business

I agree with you about getting your car done at council run MoT stations. I will be doing this next year based on bad experiences with multiple garages. (There are a few honest ones around of course.)

Had my Mazda mot'd at the same garage. They advised all my tyres were worn out. When i inspected them they were no way near the limit. Even took it to kwick fit who agreed with me.
Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems :( Well at least i learn something on the way :D
