visa debit widely accepted compared to electron
and visa debit tends to be full auth (e.g. i can use it but must authorise funds) as if it were my santander debit card and i use it say at a train station it would not check for funds and i would go overdrawn0 -
Can anyone tell me the difference of visa electron and visa debit ,coop bank have sent my new card and it is a visa debit card
Have a look at this thread its not technically a Visa Debit Card (its not embossed and doesn't use Cooperative's Visa Debit Card bin number 4988), but its not an Visa Electron Card either.

If you were thinking of using your new Cooperative 'Online Debit Card' for booking flights - you'll now be charged because the card is a Visa Debit for card processing purposes, so your new card will incur an £18 fee booking flights with flybe.com for example, where as you old card the fees would have been zero. Whats worse is that this even applies to Customers with an Existing Cooperative Visa Electron Card, because of the way Cooperative have implemented the system change.
Of Course, no coincidence that Cooperative earn a large part of their profits from their travel arm 'Cooperative Travel'. Thomas Cook, now part of Cooperative Travel charge £3 per person per flight, (£12 per booking) for a Visa Debit Card, zero for Visa Electron.
Alternatively, just google 'Cooperative Visa Electron problems' , 'Smile Visa Electron problems'0 -
Visa electron carries no charges when booking Norfolkline ferry. Unlike all other cards.I am not a cat (But my friend is)0
