I will wait and see how ScottishPower deal with my final email and then I may swap if I dont try the regulator - energywatch - first, to see what my 7 hours are!!! :mad:0 -
The problem is, your regional electricity supplier (that owns the local infrastructure and actually maintain your supply) reserve the right to vary the E7 times in order to balance load. Your electricity supplier (who bill you) have no control over these, unless they are the incumbent supplier. They will give you an indication of the E7 times, but it is unlikely that they will be able to give you exact timings.Barrie wrote:I have a radio controlled timeswitch next to the meter - i just dont fancy staying up all night watching it.....!
That's usually the most reliable way to check the times, although as Cardew indicates, the times can vary...Barrie wrote:I have night storage heaters and the time clock for them is in the storage heater fuse box so I check it every year and adjust it as necessary - just in case a powercut has put the clock back etc.
That's an unusual set up, usually the RTS switches the E7 fusebox directly via a contactor, as well as the meter. I can't understand why you have a separate timeswitch/contactor for your E7 fusebox when your RTS should have the capability to switch this automatically... I would consider getting this corrected so you don't have to worry about timing your heaters - you could then guarantee that they will then only be powered up during E7 times.
You can then use the input controls on the heaters to adjust the core temperature (hence the energy stored), or let them do their own thing if they are automatic ones.
Hope this helps.0
