AA Home Contents Insurance

Had a renewal quote off the AA for our contents insurance, the premium was £91.47 with a renewal date of 22nd January.
Totally forgot to renew it in January, so when I called yesterday to renew, they couldn't honor that quote and the cheapest they could offer me was £175 for the exact same requirements!
How can insurance premium change so much in the space of 2 weeks??:(
