Hi there.
I have a big prob with my gas & elec.
I owe BG £700 for gas and £360 for elec.
Due to my work dropping my hours I have struggled on making payments from Nov and they more or less told me if I dont agree to prepayment meters fitted we will brake in and charge you for putting them in...
so...
Today I phoned up and agreed a date for them to come in and fit them.
I have to pay £14 a week for the gas debt and £14 a week to the elec debt. I'm so scared incase I cant manage this. I know I have no choice but I know I wont be able to sleep untill these are fitted and I see how i cope with the first week of them and how much i use outwith the debt.
I know that these meters will help improve my budgeting and make me more aware of the energy we are using but i'm terrified.
Its a 3 bedroom semi I live in, so I know it wont be cheap.

Also is it true that if you use your washing machine/dryer at night its cheaper? Does BG have cheaper times? Anything I can do to keep the price down when the meters come will help!

Were you paying by direct debit? If not, there will be probably be no change in price when prepayment meters are installed.
You may be able to appeal a lower repayment rate for your debt - as little as £3.50 per week.0 -

£28 per week is quite a high payment. Do you agree that you WILL be able to keep this up each and every week plus the usage on top. It cannot be changed easily. What income do you have? There is a formula they can use and if you can't come to an agreement then you can appeal. The minimum they will take is around £3 per fuel per week.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.
