death payment from travel insurance

Can anyone help
My partner recently died in hospital whilst abroad. She had an accident a few days into our holiday (fractured hip) and was admitted to hospital for an operation on her hip.
The operation was successful and we were told that in a few days time the insurance company would repatriate us.
Overnight on her third day in hospital, she had a relapse, was placed in intensive care, and subsequently spent 12+ days in a medically induced coma, which she sadly never recovered from.
In her travel insurance there is a section that details a payment for death whilst on holiday.
The medical section of the insurance company (SEGA) paid for all the treatment and medication etc however she died as a result on contracting various diseases whilst in hospital that she DID NOT have prior to admission.
Any medical problems she had were disclosed on the insurance application and these were accepted none of which could be linked to her cause of death.
MY QUESTION: has anyone received a payment for a death as part of a holiday insurance and was this (more specifically) a death whilst in hospital?
I respect some reply’s may go down the road of “depends what’s in the wording of the policy etc” and I know some might say seek legal advice which of course is always a good idea however I am just trying to “test the water” at the moment.
I know my question is very general but I am of the opinion that if someone has an accident and the final result after treatment of that accident is a death then death benefit should be due.
I will of course be going to the CAB etc
Again, I know this is a simple question to which there may be complicated answers but, any opinions would be helpful at this stage.
Thank you
Fred

What does their policy actually say about Accidental Death Cover0
-
Ir simply says that there is an amount payable upon death to the estate of the deceased (which is me as her partner and executor of the will). if you wish to PM me with a mail address I can send you a copy of the policy wording. Thank you0

Why not just ask them how much and long it will be for the payout?
You need this information for the IHT forms anyway.
If they say no then you have an issue.0 -

It would be easier if you tell us which Insurer / Policy it is and we can look it up0 -
The insurance company is G.J. Sladdin & Co Ltd (not allowed to post the link on this site)
Click on travel insurance and thenannual multitrip policy quote and scroll down to "cover page" and then "policy wording PDF.
