Overtime hours taking me to 30hr per week

Hello

Just hoping for a bit of clarification please?

I've been offered extra hours at work until the end of October to cover maternity leave.

These extra hours will take me to 30 exactly per week, and are guaranteed until my colleague returns.

Am I correct to assume I will now qualify for the 30hrs element of WTC? (adjusted for extra income) I'm a lone parent.

If so, how soon can I expect to see a change in payments?

Thank you in advance.

You should get it straight away - but as it's overtime they might want a letter from your employer guaranteeing it - not sure. The temporary increase in income probably won't reduce tax credits by much as there's a lag due to the disregard, so you'll get the majorty of the extra ~15 pw
