I know it says you can order for delivery to an Asda store
but do stores have it anyway - i.e. go in and pick it off the shelf?
I want to buy it just to read ebooks - until tablet pc's come down in price more - is it worth it?

It's a backlit display - 6 hours between charges is fairly useless.
e-ink e-readers like the Kindle go for weeks; that's one of the big advantages.
They're also much easier on the eyes than this.
It's a nice wee gadget, but I'd look at it as an mp3 player with a big screen rather than an e-reader with mp3 capability.I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.
But, if the white runs out, I'll drink the red.0 -
I agree with WhiteChristmas - I have a sony e-reader and last charged it several weeks ago. I use it every day. e-ink ereaders only use power when you turn the page, not while you are displaying the page. You will find you are forever recharging this one.
It would make a reasonable toy, but do not expect it to be any more than that! I personally would not even use a table pc to read an e-book due to the glare.
As for if you can pick it up off the shelf - that depends on your Asda, why don't you ring them up and ask? What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
I agree with the above comments, Also just so you know you can get a good Android Tablet for around £130, granted they were only running 2.1 right now so it would be worth waiting for the next version.
This ereader you have found, while yes it is cheap, you would need to think of the cost of having to ALWAYS recharge it, Kindle (which I am the verge of buying) only needs charged once a MONTH! because as said before it only uses power when turning the page. This is down to the better technology it uses which is also easier on the eyes than regular displays.
Just something to think about, if you really want this though, just phone up your local store and ask if they have it.0 -
There is a review on it in todays Sunday Times. Page 3 of ingear.0

I have not seen these in any of the stores near me.
The reviews make it sound naff.
But you get what you pay for, if all you want is what it does then fine.0
